24th September 2012 – AGP in wet ‘n’ wild weather….

As it’s only 4 minutes from my door to the AGP I had a quick look this morning to see if was still about. A lad from Suffolk was there, he’d driven up yesterday and just missed it, so he’d slept in the car overnight. He still hadn’t seen it this morning in worsening conditions, so I set up the scope to help him find it. Thankfully I found it on the edge of the marsh on the other side of the road and he quickly got onto it. Phew. Would’ve hated him to come all that way for nowt! It then flew to the usual field, these were the best pics I could get today in the gusty winds and heavy rain (digiscoped on 1/15th second!)…

And many many thanks to Phil Evans for these shots below of the bird in flight – absolutely superb!
