23rd September 2012 – “It’s directly in line with the crapping sheep”

That was the best thing I heard today whilst watching the AGP!! It was hilarious, but I guess you had to be there! Trying to put newly arrived twitchers on a bird can sometimes be a problem, especially a bird like this which was obviously amongst a large flock of European Golden Plovers. So we found that using sheep as landmarks was a good tactic! And it seemed to work a treat, particularly when the bird walked past one that was taking a ****. Priceless.

Even though I’ve had stonking views of this bird on and off, both on the ground and in flight, I’ve yet to capture a pic of the underwing properly, so many thanks to Craig Shaw for letting me use this….

Oh yeah nearly forgot to mention that a Yellow Wag flew over early in the afternoon.
