22nd September 2012 – Spending some time with the AGP

I went back to Drumburgh this afternoon with the intention of going for a walk on the marshes, but a local birder was there who hadn’t seen the AGP yet so I decided to stay and help him find it. There was several hundred goldies roosting out on the estuary but the heat haze (yes it was sunny!) made going through them tricky, and birds were also still in the field behind ‘Enness House’. I soon located it in the same field that it had been in earlier in the day and also managed some better pics than this morning….

I had the pleasure of watching this cracking bird all by myself for nearly 2 hours! Only in Cumbria!…

Congratulations on the find Darren, and a great set of photos. It’s always good when a bird hangs around long enough for the finder to appreciate it.
