21st January 2012 – Local Little Egrets…

Not more than a few minutes away from home I stumbled across no less than 3 Little Egrets, which is very unusual for mid-winter on the Solway. In fact a quick look on the RBA website revealed that the species has not been reported on the Solway since last October, although chances are that these birds have been out on the extensive marshes somewhere all winter.

    great photos saw the g w egret at campfield last week and i one little egret flying low along the marsh on the way into brugh, now for red breasted goose.
