Perhaps long overdue – a smart Great White Egret has turned up at Campfield Marsh favouring the area around the roadside scrape. A quick look this morning before my back shift was rewarded with some superb scope views. Bizarrely you wouldn’t believe that such a large bright white bird could disappear from view so easily amongst the vegetation and lumpy ground. The local Grey Herons were often quick to defend ‘their’ patch which allowed for one or two flight pics to be taken. Nice to have one so close at last!
