9th March 2011 – Semipalmated Sandpiper accepted…

The BBRC have assessed my Semipalmated Sandpiper record from July/August last year and it has been accepted. Great news. As local birders are aware it was a tricky ID with the bird often very distant, taking 3 days before conclusive views were obtained. Many thanks to everyone who gave their invaluable input.

At long last there were decent number of Pinks to go through today, I have been checking all the regular areas since January and seen naff all up to now. Didn’t see anything of interest but did manage to read 3 neck collars – TJA, LSK and LNV.
