On our way to Workington I was hopeful that I would see the Glaucous Gull near Cockermouth, however the birding gods had other ideas and the big bruiser had done a bunk, despite being seen early morning. Oh well, we carried on to Workington where thankfully ‘Stumpy’ the Med Gull was on view straight away. Ringed as a nestling in Belgium on 27th May 2008 this faithful character has become a regular sight around the harbour car park where it usually shows incredibly well…
Plenty of Rock Pipits around the car park too…
Needless to say the Glauc wasn’t there on our way back home either but the dead sheep was still showing well…
