Over the last week or so the Solway has finally began to look good, particularly on the bigger tides, a Little Egret appeared in the week and there are finally hundreds of waders to go through to keep me amused. Highlight today was an adult Curlew Sandpiper, but as ever the Dunlin and Redshank flocks were extremely mobile and generally a bit distant. Here’s a couple of crappy digiscoped efforts of this smart-looking bird…
So at least birds are on the move, which makes me a bit more optimistic that the biggy will be out there soon… (I just hope I’m not at work if it does!)
